What are EU models?+
We use the term EU models for AI models whose inference is performed via a provider with EU data centres. The model itself can originally come from a non-EU provider — but request execution takes place in the EU.
Where are the models executed?+
HOVIGuard runs on a server in Germany. Inference for standard models is usually handled by an EU provider with data centres in the EU (e.g. France). The concrete processing locations are described in the DPA and the privacy policy.
Which providers are included in the catalogue?+
The catalogue typically includes models from providers such as Anthropic, OpenAI, Google, Mistral, DeepSeek, xAI, Meta, Qwen, Amazon, Cohere and others — made available via the provider's EU infrastructure. Which providers and models are enabled in your specific plan can be checked in the admin area.
What does this mean for GDPR?+
EU hosting can be one building block to avoid data transfers to third countries, but it does not replace a full GDPR assessment. We supply a standard DPA, sub-processor lists and technical safeguards — the legal classification for the concrete use stays with your DPO or qualified lawyers.
Is a standard DPA available?+
Yes, a standard DPA is available and can be provided during onboarding or on request. For individual changes, a separate alignment is usually advisable depending on the plan.
Can I allow only EU models?+
Enabled models can be controlled in the admin area. The granularity available depends on the plan — details are visible in the model administration during the free demo.
